Funk

Y’all I it’s a week. I couldn’t even tell you what day it is. To start my daughter got the flu in the beginning of the week, I believe it was Sunday night. She was sick for a couple days and then my stomach started to feel all weird and gross but I ended up with a cold. Well my hubby got the flu on Tuesday or Wednesday and my son has a cold and cough. Can the sickness stop please?

Anyways I have been in a funk recently and I can’t seem to get out of it. Like I’ve said in recent posts, you can’t pour from an empty cup and that’s how I’ve been feeling. At this time in my life I feel like I’m running on empty and I’ve got nothing left. Now it’s not necessarily anyone specifics fault, my head just can’t seem to balance it all. I’m not sharing this for sympathy or pity, I’m sharing how I feel so others know that they aren’t alone if they have been feeling something similar.

So once my little ones finally decided to take a nap (I’m literally jumping up and down happy they are sleeping) I thought it’d be a good idea to take a step outside. Fresh air is one of the greatest things in the world. One of the reasons I love spring and summer is because I enjoy walking and being outside. It always puts me in a great mood and just cheers me up. Today the sun is out and shining bright! It is very cold here unfortunately, I believe under 30 degrees, so I wore my boots and winter coat. I walked around my yard taking in some deep breaths. I was only outside for like 5 minutes because it’s so cold and this mama doesn’t do cold well. But I’m proud of myself for taking that first step (pun intended 😂) on trying to change my mood. I did something for me and it felt good!

What’s one of your favorite things to boost your mood and energy?

If you are having a rough couple days and feeling not yourself, just remember you aren’t alone! You can get through this funk, it just takes time. Do something for you today. Find time to do the things you love and that make you feel like you!

Thank you for stopping by!

  1. It sounds so silly, but blasting my favorite throwback songs and having a dance party in my kitchen automatically boosts my mood. Going for a run usually works too, but that takes a little more planning and effort. haha.

    1. I would love to go for a run but my hubby has to be home to watch the little ones haha. Throwback songs are the greatest! I’ll have to give it a try to see if it boosts my mood. Normally when I try to jam to music my daughter yells at me to not sing and dance 😂 girl is always killing my vibes haha
