The Girl on the Train

Hello everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend and first day of October! I can’t believe its already October.

This past week I have been reading The Girl on the Train. Let me just say, I did not see that coming. If you haven’t read this book, you need to. Now, I normally hate suspense thriller type books. I tend to over think them and in the end it just freaks me out. However, with this one I just could  not put it down.

What I really liked was that it was an easy and quick read. It was very  suspenseful and it made you look at all the characters in a different way. I don’t want to give  away too much of the book because I really encourage you all to stop what you are doing and go purchase this book.

It begins with the main character, Rachel. She is always on the train at the same time everyday and enjoys looking out the window while drinking her gin and tonics. As she watches out the window she notices this couple that seem to be extremely happy and in love. Rachel always imagines them a certain way, until one day she notices something she never thought would happen. She had given fake names to the couple she always saw as Jason and Jess, and later on learns that their real names are Scott and Megan. One terrible Saturday evening Megan goes missing and there are more than one person that could be at fault.

I will not say anymore about the story so I don’t give away the very shocking truth. It is very difficult for me to not tell you all who did it, but you will just have to read it and find out! Like I said in the beginning, it is someone you wouldn’t expect, well at least I didn’t expect it.

This book jumps to a different character every chapter. I like that because it gives you insight on that persons day, and life. It can also get a little confusing at times, well for me at least. As this story unfolds, you learn a lot about each character. I give this book two thumbs up!

Let me know in the comments if you have read this book and what you thought about it!

I hope you have a great weekend!

I loved this book. People compared it to Gone Girl, but I liked The Girl on the Train much better.

I just got “Gone Girl” from the library…hard to be “Train”, though. 🙂

I am excited to see the movie, but it frustrates me when they don’t make movies like the books.

This movie is as equally good as the book, if not better. Emily Blunt was wonderful as Rachel.

This type of book isn’t my favorite genre, either, but I did enjoy this book didn’t see it coming at the end, either! I’m always tentative about the movies, though. I try to find a good literary friend to see it with and then trash Hollywood after 😂

    Thank you for your like!

I have to admit, I didn’t read the book but I did watch the movie… and I LOVED IT! Generally I prefer to read the story before watching it, but didn’t happen that way. I think I still need to read it though, looks like it would still be interesting.
